Akakura Onsen Ski Area

Although this area ranks low on the number of clear weather days, the resort ranks among the highest in the world for its abundance of heavy snowfall. Akakura Onsen has been a popular hot spring resort since the Edo period. The onsen is located at the foot of a range that has a number of substantial courses for advanced freestyle skiing with mogul courses that have been used for many tournaments and championships.
