HAKUBA
Hakuba Village is located at the foot of the Northern Alps, famous for being the venue for the 1998 Winter Olympics, and is called a Mecca of winter sports.
Summer offers the chance to enjoy numerous activities such as mountain climbing, rafting, rock climbing, and camping, and more. During winter, Hakuba offers quality powder snow on mountains exceeding 3,000 m in altitude where snowboarding and skiing is enjoyed by visitors from both Japan and abroad.
Visitors can also enjoy the more traditional side of Japan including soaking in hot spring baths and remarkable Japanese dishes.
Another nice feature of Hakuba is the large number of signboards written in English that are provided in most locations, thus making it much easier for overseas visitors who have come to Hakuba for the first time.
There are shuttle bus running back and forth between the Narita and Haneda Airports and Hakuba. These buses offer great and convenient access to Hakuba and several ski resorts.
